1x8 Roof Decking

Anyway i m going to redo the roof soon and i want to go over the 1x8 with 7 16 osb.

1x8 roof decking.

These 8 to 12 inch wide boards were nailed together tight. These can not be torn off without risking a roof collapse or shifting of the roof and walls. Even newer houses with cedar used 1x material to hold the rafters in place. Scroll down below for options.

The insured s contractor contends the decking does not meet code and must be removed and replaced if the roof is replaced. The product comes endmatched meaning it is tongue and grooved on the ends so the boards do not have to meet on supports. The roof decking is 1 x 8 1 8 planks. As wood dries it shrinks.
